Alana   McConalogue

Biography

Name: Alana McConalogue
Club: Arabian Celts
Home Club: Buncrana Ladies
County: Donegal Gaelic Accomplishments at home: Various Gaelic Accomplishments in Bahrain: Middle East GAA All Star 2013-14. Arabian Celts Player of the Year 2013-14.
Arrived in Bahrain: August 2012 About Alana: I arrived in Bahrain in August 2012 where the first person I contacted was the famous David Lloyd to find out about the football scene in Bahrain. I never expected it to be as big of a community as it was and is. The Arabian Celts are truly an inclusive club as there are so many different nationalities involved in our great sport. I had been training with my home club Buncrana for the first time in years as it had been recently reformed so I was eager to continue playing. Little did I know after two hard years trying to fight to keep our place in the top 4 senior teams in the region, that I would come out of it with an All-Star award at the Championship finals this year as well as Arabian Celts Ladies Player of the Year.
The spirit of the GAA is just as big, if not bigger than at home as it brings all us expats together and keeps that little bit of home with us! So much so that I travelled home in September for the All-Ireland final to support Donegal. Up Donegal!
